KORT PROSESS - Discography


KORT PROSESS remains one of the most intense and interesting hardcore bands from the 90's. They're not exactly in line with the traditional Norwegian hardcore fare, but they're not really in line with much else for that matter. Intricate song structures twist and turn, never allowing you to catch your breath or break your concentration from the sheer intensity and brutality of their delivery. This tape collects both 7"s from 1993 and 1994 and their final double 7" from 1997. Playing this up next to the hordes of easily-categorized punk and hc bands of today, KORT PROSESS has definitely left it's legacy as a truly unique and timeless band. I can't go without mentioning that their EP's featured some of the coolest artwork to be found on a punk record. Essential collection!!!

    Maybe Kort Prosess from Norway might be related with Kafka Prosess? the name is similar :)

      they were. the guitar player was the same and he played in Stengte Dorer/Bannylist as well! :)

      Kort Prosess just means Short Process and has nothing to do with Kafka. They were from a different town and different generation than Kafka Prosess. None of the guitarists in either band played in Stengte Dører / Bannlyst.

    I love love love this band...easily one of my top five of the 1990s. Love the existentialist artwork and that singer's THROAT. Wow. The songs are short, but not one-dimensional. I have a really worn Kort Prosess shirt that I still rock regularly.
    Have you heard Knuste Ruter? They're probably the best current trad. Norwegian HC band...the first 7" is spectacular if you like this style, first LP is OK but not as good, but the new LP features the singer of Stengte Dorer and is excellent...can't recommend it enough. Their records had no distribution in the U.S. at all. I had to order from Germany.

    I have only the first Knuste Ruter LP, not the 7" or new LP - and did not know they now have the StDorer vocalist. Sounds exciting, I'll have to track that down.

    I too have a worn 'home screened" Kort Prosess tshirt that an old friend passed down to me years ago. It's khaki colored and has a breast pocket, haha! I still wear it from time to time!
